Is the 2017 Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Honda Odyssey earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2017 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights reliable performance and a dependable ownership experience, with many drivers saying they feel confident in it over the long term. That said, some shoppers noted cosmetic wear and tear, so condition matters when you are comparing used examples. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding a poorly maintained vehicle, so service records and a careful inspection are especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 175 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,698 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $18,698 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,182 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the van more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should be set with the current softer market in mind. If pricing stays near the lower end of the range, well-kept examples may still stand out, but you should not expect a quick rebound without stronger demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped, family-focused minivan and you value strong owner satisfaction, the 2017 is a sensible place to start. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-priced, best-maintained example rather than the badge year alone.
