Is the 2017 Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its reliable performance, safety features, and spacious interior, and many also like its comfortable ride and versatility. For you, that makes it a sensible choice if you want a practical family minivan with a safety-first focus and everyday usability. With 24.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights reliable performance and a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, which is encouraging if you want something you can count on over the long term. The same feedback also points to comfort and versatility as strengths, both of which matter in a family vehicle that sees constant use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any example you consider has been maintained properly, since a careful history check matters more when you are shopping an older minivan.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 182 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,588 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $18,794 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,246 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favour, which can make the Odyssey easier to purchase now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited if prices stay soft. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your eventual trade-in or private-sale value. Demand should remain supported by the model’s family-friendly reputation and broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a well-equipped, safety-focused minivan and you can find one with a clean maintenance history at a sensible price. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains a strong pick when you value comfort, versatility, and owner satisfaction.
