Is the 2017 GMC Terrain reliable?

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find comfortable and dependable in day-to-day use, with a quiet cabin and smooth driving character supporting that impression. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable only if you verify the specific vehicle’s history and condition closely.

What is the 2017 GMC Terrain's resale value?

That softer pricing suggests the Terrain has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want a comfortable, quiet compact SUV and you find a well-priced example. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may offer a lower entry point, but the 2017 stands out as the better-balanced pick when you want a mix of value, comfort, and buyer appeal.
