Is the 2017 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — the 2017 GMC Acadia earns a 4.73/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise its smooth ride, spacious interior, ample cargo space, and versatile seating, and the model’s comfort and feature content make it a practical fit for families and outdoor use. Is the 2017 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with the Acadia often described as a vehicle people can count on for comfort and everyday use. The main cautions in the feedback are the lack of a turbo option and occasional radio issues, but those do not outweigh the overall positive long-term impression. For used buyers, that means the biggest ownership risk is less about broad reliability concerns and more about checking the specific vehicle’s condition and equipment history carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 75 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.88% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,331 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $16,787 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,197 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Acadia easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you purchase at the current average, your resale outcome will depend heavily on how well the vehicle is maintained and how competitively it is priced when you decide to sell. The model’s broad appeal to families and outdoor-oriented buyers should help keep demand steady, but the softer market means you should not expect rapid appreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Acadia makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, family-friendly midsize SUV and you value strong owner satisfaction alongside a softer used-market price. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better pick when you want a balanced mix of value, comfort, and buyer appeal.
