Is the 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty a good car?

Generally — the 4.2/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a truck that satisfies many owners. Review feedback points to strong power and performance, especially for towing, along with comfort features that make it easier to live with than a purely work-focused pickup. The overview also fits that use case: you’re getting a heavy-duty truck aimed at serious towing and hauling, but with a more modern cabin and driver-assistance tech than older heavy-duty models. With 23.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights reliability and the diesel engine’s strength, and it also describes the truck as dependable for the kind of work it’s built to do. That said, some owners mention fuel economy and a few interior-feature concerns, so you should still inspect the cabin controls and test all functions carefully. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic capability and more about whether a specific truck has been maintained well and avoided hard-use wear.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be picky without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 23.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 55 listings available.

If you find a listing below $32,027 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty's resale value?

The current average of $34,073 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,902 CAD.

That kind of decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy with less risk of overpaying. If prices stay near the current average, future resale value may be steadier than it would be after a sharp run-up. For you as a seller later on, the key will be how well the truck’s condition, mileage, and maintenance history hold up against similar listings.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 23.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of modern features, heavy-duty capability, and a market that has already cooled a bit, the 2017 is the year to focus on. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar truck offers a lower entry point, but the 2017 remains the better all-around target when you want capability and comfort together.
