Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards patience and comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 651 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,569 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $11,569 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,361 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you’re buying now but less ideal if you’re planning to sell soon. If you own one, the softer market means resale gains may be limited unless your vehicle is especially well kept or well equipped. Strong condition and desirable features matter more when the broader market is trending down.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and owner satisfaction, the 2017 is the one to focus on. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep comparing nearby years and look for the cleanest example with the strongest deal positioning.
