Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. Owners repeatedly highlight the spacious Stow ’n Go seating, the practical family-friendly layout, and the good value compared with competitors. That lines up well with the Grand Caravan’s role as a space-first minivan that prioritises easy entry and exit, adult-friendly room in all rows, and everyday usefulness over style. The same feedback also suggests it can be a trouble-free choice for buyers who value utility and long-term usefulness, especially when the cabin flexibility matters most. At the same time, used buyers should still budget carefully for age-related ownership risk, since durability concerns can become more relevant as mileage and wear build up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 604 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.32% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan's resale value?

The current average of $12,442 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,354 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the model easier to buy now but also means future resale gains may be limited unless demand strengthens. For a seller, that softer trend can translate into more price sensitivity from shoppers, especially if comparable listings remain plentiful. On the other hand, the Grand Caravan’s practical reputation and family-friendly packaging can still help it hold attention among buyers who want maximum utility for the money.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want the Grand Caravan’s practical cabin, flexible seating, and value-focused pricing without stretching to a newer model. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains a sensible middle ground when you want a well-known, utility-first minivan with broad used-market availability.
