Is the 2017 Dodge Durango a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.6/5, which is a strong signal that it delivers on what shoppers want from a three-row SUV.

The owner feedback points to a powerful V8 engine, a spacious interior, and a smooth ride as recurring strengths. That lines up well if you want a family-friendly SUV with a more muscular personality and enough room for everyday use. The broad feature set also adds to its appeal if you value comfort and convenience in a used SUV.

With 20.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a reasonable chance of finding a competitive listing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Dodge Durango reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary also highlights a reputation for being powerful, spacious, and enjoyable to live with, which supports the idea that many buyers find it dependable in day-to-day use. For used shoppers, that kind of feedback suggests the Durango can be a solid long-term choice if you prioritise condition and maintenance history.

Because this generation has had recall concerns in earlier model years, your long-term ownership risk is best managed by choosing a well-documented example with a careful inspection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Dodge Durango?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a decent example.

• Deal availability: 20.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 69 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,247 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Dodge Durango's resale value?

The current average of $19,552 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,614 CAD.

That tells you the market has eased, which can be helpful if you're buying now but means future resale gains may be more limited in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition. A clean history and desirable equipment can help protect value better than simply waiting for the market to rebound.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 20.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a good pick if you want a three-row SUV with strong owner approval and a market that has become a bit more favourable for buyers. If you are price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
