Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its space, comfort, and style, and many also like the powerful performance and all-wheel drive for different weather conditions. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy three-row crossover with family-friendly practicality and easy-to-use technology. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable for everyday family use, especially when it comes to comfort and space. That said, used buyers should still be selective and inspect carefully, because long-term ownership risk can rise if you buy a poorly maintained example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 70 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.30% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,927 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $12,927 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,637 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Traverse easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you own one, strong condition and good maintenance history matter more because buyers in this segment tend to compare value closely. A lower entry price can help keep demand steady, but it also means you should expect resale to track the broader market rather than outperform it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of space, owner satisfaction, and current pricing, the 2017 is the one to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price offsets any differences in condition or equipment.
