Is the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze a good car?

Generally — the 4.35/5 user rating points to a car that many owners find worthwhile. The review summary consistently highlights comfort, handling, and excellent gas mileage, while also noting that the Cruze feels well-rounded and enjoyable for daily driving. That lines up well with the model’s practical use case: a compact car that aims to give you a more polished feel, useful technology, and everyday comfort without pushing you into a larger vehicle. With 25.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a reasonable chance of finding a strong-value example.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze reliable?

Owners rate it 4.35/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a car that many owners see as dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, with positive feedback centred on comfort and efficiency over the long term. That said, used-car reliability always depends on how the specific vehicle was maintained, so a careful inspection and service-history review still matter for reducing ownership risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Cruze?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy without expecting every good example to sit around for long.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 298 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.57% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,783 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze's resale value?

The current average of $10,783 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,333 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Cruze has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the higher end of the recent range. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell, especially for shoppers looking for a practical compact car with good fuel economy.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.35/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.35/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Cruze is the better pick if you want a compact car that feels modern, efficient, and comfortable, especially if you value a well-equipped cabin and a strong ownership reputation. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you can also compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, price, and service history.
