The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centred on the MDX’s overall quality and the confidence it inspires over time. Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 136 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,804 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $19,804 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,173 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, your resale position will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Because the model still has strong owner satisfaction, demand should remain reasonably healthy if you keep it in good shape.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Acura MDX makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped three-row luxury SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but if you want the refreshed equipment and strong satisfaction profile, the 2017 is the better primary target.
