What is the 2016 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $17,812 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,013 CAD.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the drop is not dramatic, so the model still appears to hold value reasonably well for a mainstream compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $15,743 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $17,812 CAD average.
• It offers spacious cargo room and comfortable everyday practicality.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2016 if you want the newer updates, stronger feature content, and a still-reasonable market price. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the better value play, especially if you can find one with similar condition and maintenance history.
