The owner feedback also highlights reliability, dependability, and a low-hassle ownership experience, which is exactly what many used-SUV shoppers want. Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2016 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $17,992 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,165 CAD.

That small decline suggests the market has stayed fairly stable, which is helpful if you're planning to sell later. A steady price pattern usually means you are less likely to see sharp value swings in the near term. Because demand remains supported by the model's practical reputation, a clean, well-kept example should still appeal to used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 19.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $15,748 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $17,992 CAD average.
• It blends perky drivability, good fuel economy, and generous cargo space.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2016 if you want the newer pricing benchmark and a strong satisfaction record. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the better value path, especially if you can find one in good condition with the features you want.
