That lines up well with the Crosstrek’s practical, all-weather focus, especially if you want a compact crossover that is easy to live with day to day. Is the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary also points to reliability as a key strength, alongside comments about the car being dependable and solid over time. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used vehicle you can count on for regular commuting, winter driving, and general daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific example has been maintained properly, since condition matters more as these vehicles age.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Subaru Crosstrek?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 102 listings available.

What is the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $13,401 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,940 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. The Crosstrek’s practical appeal and steady demand help support its value, especially when the vehicle is in good condition and priced in line with the market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Crosstrek makes the most sense if you want a practical, all-weather compact crossover and you find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you are more price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a similar vehicle offers a better entry price or a stronger deal on condition and mileage.
