Is the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — owners give it 5/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The owner feedback highlights its safety, reliability, all-wheel drive capability, and easy-to-handle nature, while also noting its versatility. That fits especially well if you want a compact crossover that leans into practicality, all-weather confidence, and everyday usefulness rather than flash. The owner feedback also points to reliability, dependability, and a vehicle that feels solid over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core formula and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.

• Inventory: There are 95 listings available.

If you find a listing below $13,098 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $13,098 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,324 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to the previous average. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the Crosstrek’s practical, all-wheel-drive formula with a refreshed look and strong owner approval, the 2016 is the year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as a sensible primary choice when you find a well-priced example.
