Is the 2016 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 RAM 3500 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which is a strong sign that owners are satisfied with it. It fits well if you want a heavy-duty truck that can handle towing and other demanding jobs while still offering a more comfortable cabin than older work-focused pickups. Is the 2016 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels reliable, powerful, and well suited to heavy-duty use, especially for towing. That kind of owner confidence matters if you plan to keep the truck for the long haul and depend on it for demanding work. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the truck’s core capability and more about checking for wear items and how hard the truck was used.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 13.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 79 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,081 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $38,081 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,450 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck more attractive to buyers now but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you buy at the right number and keep the truck in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and heavy-duty capability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 13.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with proven owner satisfaction and a market that has become a bit more buyer-friendly. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, price, and equipment.
