This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

If you find a listing below $38,072 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $38,140 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,968 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means your return will depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 15.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 RAM 3500 is a strong choice if you want heavy-duty capability with a more refined cabin and you value a market that has eased from last year. If you are price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained truck rather than the newest one, since the 2016 already offers a compelling mix of value and owner satisfaction.
