Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Micra?

You’re shopping in a moderate buyer’s market, so it’s worth being selective and comparing listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 71 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $7,420 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Micra's resale value?

The current average of $8,836 CAD sits slightly below last year's $9,336 CAD.

For a future seller, that points to a market that has eased rather than strengthened, so you may not see the same return you would have a year ago. If you buy at the lower end of the current range, you give yourself a better chance of protecting value later. The softer pricing also suggests you should focus on condition and mileage, since those factors will matter more when you eventually resell.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Micra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.35% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 is the better fit if you want to shop a year with softer pricing and a decent share of deal-priced listings. If you’re more price-sensitive, it’s also worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a lower-priced alternative gives you a better overall value, especially if condition and mileage are similar.
