Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxury, comfort, style, and high-quality fit and finish, and many also like the smooth handling and updated features for an older model. It suits you well if you want a conservative, family-focused luxury SUV with a practical layout and a broad range of powertrain choices. With 40.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have a healthy chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback describes it as reliable and safe, with a reputation for being dependable over time and delivering a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. The main caution is that some electrical glitches are known, so a careful inspection matters if you want to count on it for long-term use. For used buyers, that means the biggest ownership risk is less about the overall reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained properly and checked thoroughly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

This looks like a buyer-friendly market if you are shopping carefully, because prices have eased and there is still enough inventory to compare options.

• Deal availability: 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 74 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.05% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,588 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $26,746 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,406 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilises. If you buy at the right price now, you may have less downside left than you would with a vehicle that is still dropping quickly. Strong demand for well-kept examples can also support resale, especially when buyers see a model with a good reputation and broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, well-equipped luxury SUV with strong owner approval and a market that currently favours buyers, the 2016 is a solid place to start. If your priority is simply getting the best value, you should also compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than the badge year alone.
