It is best suited to you if you want a stylish, premium-feeling small sedan with a smooth, relaxing drive, a comfortable interior, and standard all-wheel drive in Canada for added confidence in poor weather. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA is described as a car that can be appealing for luxury and style, but it is best approached with an eye on condition and maintenance history. The earliest models are the ones most often flagged for reliability concerns, so a careful inspection and service-record review matter more than usual.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a neglected example could bring avoidable repair costs, so a well-documented history is especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 60 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.01% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,130 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

The current average of $14,161 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,703 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car more accessible for you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means resale upside may be more limited unless the vehicle is especially clean, well maintained, and attractively equipped. The current pricing range still leaves room for stronger examples to stand out, but condition will matter a lot.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2016 if you want the strongest mix of style, comfort, and current pricing in this generation. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2016 is the better starting point when you want a newer-feeling compact luxury car with a meaningful price drop already built in.
