Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA earns a 4.33/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a compact luxury car that leans heavily on style. The overview points to a design-first approach, a premium cabin feel, and a smooth, relaxing drive, so it suits you if you want a smaller Mercedes with a distinctive presence and everyday comfort. In Canada, the standard all-wheel drive also adds confidence in poor weather.

With 25.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of market opportunities to compare.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also notes that the earliest models are the ones most often flagged for reliability concerns, so you should pay close attention to condition and maintenance history. For used buyers, that means the car can make sense, but only if the specific example has been cared for properly and checks out well on inspection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 70 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.76% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,578 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

The current average of $14,666 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,053 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably today but may also limit how much room there is for future depreciation to slow further. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing environment means your resale outcome will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and maintenance records. Well-kept examples should still attract interest, especially from shoppers drawn to the CLA’s style-first appeal.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 25.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 CLA makes the most sense if you want the style, premium feel, and all-weather confidence of a compact Mercedes at a more approachable price. If you are especially price-sensitive, you should still compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the cheapest one, since condition and service history matter a lot here.
