Is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is a solid pick if you want a compact SUV that balances comfort, practicality, and value, and its 3.83/5 user rating reflects that mixed-but-positive reception. Drivers commonly praise the smooth ride, comfortable interior, and reliability, while features like cooled seats and the panoramic roof also stand out. It fits especially well if you want a practical small SUV with a more upscale presence and useful everyday equipment. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson stands out as a more refined and better-rounded compact SUV than the model that came before it. Drivers often describe it as reliable and appreciate its comfortable, smooth-driving character, with some also calling out its dependable feel for everyday use. That said, some owners have reported serious concerns around safety and transmission behaviour, so used buyers should pay close attention to service history and how the vehicle drives on a test route. For long-term ownership, a careful inspection matters because transmission-related issues can become costly if they were not addressed properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 416 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,129 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $12,129 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,672 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tucson has already given up some value, which can be good news if you are buying now. For a future seller, it means resale may stay under pressure unless the vehicle is especially well equipped, well maintained, and priced competitively. If you plan to own one for several years, the current market gives you a clearer entry point, but you should still expect depreciation to remain part of the ownership picture.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.29% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 Tucson is a sensible choice if you want a more refined compact SUV with strong everyday usability and you can find one with a clean history and a fair price. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby model years as well, but the 2016 remains a good target when you want a balanced mix of features, comfort, and value.
