How much does the 2016 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have softened 11.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 403 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is a solid pick if you want a compact SUV that balances comfort, practicality, and value, and its user rating of 3.8/5 reflects that mixed-but-positive reception. Drivers commonly praise the smooth ride, comfortable interior, and useful features such as cooled seats and the panoramic roof. It also fits well if you want a practical small SUV with a more upscale presence and a roomier body than earlier versions. With 29.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson stands out as a more refined and better-rounded compact SUV than the model that came before it. Drivers often describe it as reliable and appreciate its comfortable, trouble-free feel in everyday use, especially when it comes to the ride and cabin comfort. That said, some owners have reported serious concerns around safety and transmission behaviour, so you should pay close attention to service history and any signs of drivetrain issues. For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is more about finding a well-maintained example than assuming every Tucson will age the same way.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 403 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.09% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,005 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $12,082 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,589 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Tucson has moved into a more buyer-friendly part of its market cycle. If you buy now, you may benefit from lower entry costs, but a future seller should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones, especially given the model's mixed owner feedback around transmission and safety concerns.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.09% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 Tucson makes the most sense if you want a more refined compact SUV with strong value and a decent pool of listings to choose from. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower average price may be worth a look, but the 2016 remains the better all-around choice if you want a more polished feel and are willing to shop carefully.
