Used 2016 Hyundai Elantra for Sale near Niagara Falls, ON

How much does the 2016 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 6.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 299 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its comfort, reliability, and excellent fuel economy, and many also like its smooth ride and attractive design. For you, that makes it a sensible fit if you want a compact sedan that feels practical without being plain. With 26.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and the broader review summary also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That said, the model’s reputation is not spotless, so you should still inspect maintenance records and verify that the car has been cared for properly. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a neglected example rather than a well-kept one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 299 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,668 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $8,905 CAD sits slightly below last year's $9,497 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also suggests resale values have eased compared with a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect the market to reward clean condition, strong maintenance history, and desirable equipment more than age alone. A lower entry price can help offset some depreciation, but it also means future gains are unlikely if the market stays soft.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $10,211 CAD, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $8,905 CAD average.
• It adds a more polished redesign with stronger technology and safety focus.

The bottom line: Choose the 2016 if your priority is value and you want a lower entry price with solid owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget, the 2017 is the better pick for shoppers who want a more modern-feeling Elantra; if price matters most, the 2016 remains the smarter buy.
