Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 181 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,831 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $17,831 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,716 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well kept. If you buy at the right price and maintain the SUV carefully, you may be better positioned to protect value when it is time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong pick if you want the Pilot’s safety and comfort upgrades, especially the year it gained the optional Honda Sensing suite and other premium family-friendly features. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2016 is the better choice when you want a well-liked, well-equipped version of this three-row SUV.
