Is the 2016 Honda CR-V a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Honda CR-V earns a 4.53/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfortable interior, and good fuel economy, and many also value its spaciousness and useful features for daily use. That fits especially well if you want a practical compact crossover that prioritises comfort, space, and everyday usefulness over sporty driving. With 22.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.53/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, dependable day-to-day use, and a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That lines up with the model’s reputation for long-term dependability and low running costs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding a vehicle that has been maintained properly, since condition matters more as mileage and age add up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 22.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 452 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,833 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $15,835 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,543 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the model easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you purchase near the current average, you may have less immediate appreciation potential than in a stronger market. Even so, the CR-V’s broad appeal and practical reputation help support steady demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.53/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 22.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.53/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $15,031 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $15,835 CAD average.
• It blends practicality, reliability, and efficiency in a roomy package.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2016 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the better value-focused alternative, especially if you find one in clean condition.
