The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing it as a vehicle they can count on for everyday use. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the model’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained properly over time.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

What is the 2016 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $15,668 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,261 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone purchasing when prices were higher. The CR-V’s practical reputation and broad appeal should still help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.53/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 24.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.53/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,714 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $15,668 CAD average.
• It offers a refined, practical package with strong everyday appeal.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2016 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better value-oriented alternative, especially if you find one in good condition with a solid service history.
