Used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearBarrie, ON

How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 18.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 58 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner approval for a vehicle that focuses on space, seating flexibility, and everyday family usefulness. The Traverse’s appeal is its genuinely large cabin, usable third row, and generous cargo capacity, including 3,296 litres of maximum cargo volume. If you need a three-row SUV that prioritises passenger room and practical hauling over compact dimensions, this model year fits that brief well. With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a decent amount of market value to compare.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Traverse’s reliability record is described as poor, with concerns around electrical and power steering issues as well as engine and transmission trouble. That means you should approach used examples carefully and focus on service history, warning lights, and evidence of consistent maintenance. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying a neglected example that could bring higher repair costs than you expect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 58 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,435 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $10,459 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,853 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Traverse has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help if you buy at the right number and hold it for a while. For a future seller, the softer market means resale gains are unlikely, but a well-kept example can still appeal to buyers who want space and value. The model’s practical cabin and family-friendly layout help keep it relevant in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2016 if you want a roomy, affordable three-row SUV and you can verify that the specific vehicle has been maintained carefully. If you are especially price-sensitive, the softer market and decent deal share make it worth shopping patiently and comparing several examples before you commit.
