That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the truck easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current softness means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Well-kept examples should still hold interest because shoppers continue to value the Silverado’s capability and everyday usability.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.45/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 24.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.45/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a full-size pickup with useful technology, broad configuration choices, and a market that currently favours patient shoppers. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained truck rather than the newest badge, since condition and service history matter a lot in this segment.
