This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 22.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 240 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.57% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,822 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze's resale value?

The current average of $8,858 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,017 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Cruze has softened enough to create a more approachable entry point for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The model’s value proposition is strongest when you focus on condition, mileage, and service history rather than expecting strong short-term appreciation.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 22.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Cruze is the better pick if you want the improved second-generation design, stronger efficiency, and a more modern-feeling compact car at a still-reasonable price. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 is the safer choice when you want a more polished overall package and are willing to pay a bit more for it.
