CarGurus Analysis: 2016 Chevrolet Camaro
Summary
With 53 currently listed for sale and an average price of $31,915 CAD, 18.9% of 2016 Chevrolet Camaro listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro 4.38 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro stands out because it marked the start of the sixth generation, which was described as lighter, smaller, tauter, and more efficient than the previous Camaro. Chevrolet built it on a new platform shared with the Cadillac ATS, and the car was praised for its world-class power and driving dynamics. It was available as a coupe or convertible, and the 2016 model offered a choice of a 275 hp turbocharged four-cylinder, a 335 hp 3.6-litre V6, or a Corvette-sourced 455 hp 6.2-litre V8. A standard six-speed manual transmission was fitted, with downshift rev-matching on the 6.2-litre V8, while an eight-speed automatic was available.
The 2016 Camaro also brought useful modern technology, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. In trim terms, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and Camaro 2SS versions were available, and buyers could add an RS package to the 1LT and 2LT. The “2” trims added leather seats, more standard equipment, and exclusive options, which helped the Camaro feel more upscale without losing its performance focus. Owners also tend to praise its sporty design, smooth ride, powerful performance, advanced technology, and handling.
Its main drawbacks are familiar ones for the Camaro nameplate. The source notes that interiors were cheaply outfitted and that outward visibility was poor, and owner feedback echoes that visibility can be a significant issue, especially for taller drivers, with the cabin feeling cramped for those over six feet tall. Even so, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro remains appealing because it combines strong performance, modern features, and a more refined chassis than earlier versions.

All the tech you could need. Better build quality than expected, better ride than expected. Handling and power phenomenal. Car is solid. Cockpit is snug, but comfy. Sips gas, unless you have a lead foot, if you do plan on extra tires!

Amazing performance. Tons of power and handling was very good for such a big coupe. Nice features including a rev matching downshift that worked flawlessly. The interior is okay with some odd placement for the air vents. Plastic was typical GM. The biggest downside is visibility. I couldnt see anything for changing lanes or passing. Wife didnt like the interior at all. The seats were fine for me, but not for my wife.
