How much does the 2016 BMW X3 cost?

Prices have softened 16.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 124 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW X3 earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth driving experience, powerful performance, and luxury features, and many like how it blends mid-size SUV practicality with sports car-like handling. It also fits well if you want a compact luxury SUV with a sporty feel and a premium cabin rather than a rugged utility vehicle. With 33.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially when the vehicle has been maintained properly over the long term. At the same time, the premium ownership experience can bring higher insurance, maintenance, and repair costs, so your long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about budgeting for upkeep on a used luxury SUV.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW X3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 124 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,132 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $14,132 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,836 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the X3 easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that a softer market can pressure resale values unless the vehicle is especially well kept and attractively priced. Strong condition, service history, and desirable equipment matter more when the broader market is already leaning lower.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 BMW X3 makes the most sense if you want a compact luxury SUV with a sporty personality, strong owner approval, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years as well, but the 2016 is a solid target when you find a well-priced example with good maintenance history.
