How much does the 2016 BMW 3 Series cost?

Is the 2016 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Generally — the 4.2/5 user rating points to a well-liked used luxury sedan. Owners most often praise its safety, build quality, and enjoyable driving experience, while comfort and performance also come through as recurring strengths. In practical terms, that fits a car that works well if you want a premium compact sedan with a strong driving reputation and enough versatility to suit different needs. With 24.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that can feel dependable when it is maintained properly, with positive comments around build quality and overall ownership experience. That said, the same feedback suggests you should pay close attention to condition and service history, since used luxury cars can become costly if prior maintenance was inconsistent. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a neglected example that needs expensive catch-up work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin conditions.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 146 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,320 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $13,320 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,030 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you purchase at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned to protect value than someone who buys at the top of the range. The key is to avoid overpaying for a higher-mileage or poorly maintained example, since those cars tend to be harder to move later.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a used 3 Series with a favourable price trend and enough inventory to shop carefully. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing a specific badge year.
