Is the 2015 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Subaru Impreza earns a 4/5 user rating, which lines up with its practical compact-car appeal. It stands out for standard all-wheel drive, a sedan and hatchback body style choice, improved fuel economy, and added convenience and safety features from the mid-cycle refresh. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want a small car with all-weather confidence and everyday versatility rather than flashy styling or maximum cargo room. Is the 2015 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2015 Subaru Impreza’s appeal is rooted in its practical design, standard all-wheel drive, and updated equipment, all of which support confidence in day-to-day use. Its improved fuel economy and added driver-assist availability also make it feel more modern than earlier versions of the same generation. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you may still be trading some refinement and utility for capability, so condition and maintenance history matter.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Inventory: There are 80 listings available.

The current average of $10,968 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,596 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. The Impreza’s practical reputation and standard all-wheel drive should help it stay relevant with shoppers who value capability over style.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 23.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2015 Subaru Impreza is the better pick if you want the refreshed fourth-generation package with standard all-wheel drive, improved equipment, and a market that is currently a bit softer than it was a year ago. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2015 is the stronger choice when you want a more modern-feeling Impreza with broad everyday appeal.
