This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers: there is enough inventory to compare options, but the best-priced examples may move quickly.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 182 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.50% compared with last year.

The current average of $11,728 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,679 CAD.

That price trend suggests the market has softened, which can make the Forester easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you purchase at a fair price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. Demand should remain supported by the model's practicality and broad appeal to used-SUV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2015 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2015 is a sensible choice if you want a practical compact SUV with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some deal potential. If you are price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
