Used 2015 RAM 1500 for Sale nearEdmonton, AB

How much does the 2015 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 12.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 429 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 a good car?

The 2015 RAM 1500 is a solid pick if you want a full-size pickup that leans more toward comfort and refinement than bare-bones utility, and owners rate it 3.85/5 while our experts score it 7.67/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners commonly praise its powerful performance, luxury features, and comfort, and many also like its towing ability and enjoyable driving experience. The overview also points to a truck that can work as either a practical hauler or a more upscale daily driver, with cabin and powertrain choices that range from work truck to luxe cruiser.

Only 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective even if the truck itself has broad appeal.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 reliable?

The 2015 RAM 1500 is presented as a truck that has aged well and still offers a capable, smooth-driving package. Owners describe it as dependable in everyday use, with strong performance and comfort that make it easy to live with over time.

The expert evaluation also highlights the Ram’s competent and smooth diesel powertrain, along with an eight-speed automatic that is described as entirely unnoticeable in normal use. Ram’s value proposition is strongest when you choose a modestly equipped example, and the diesel can be attractive if you plan to keep the truck a long time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some owners have reported engine issues and rust, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 RAM 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The truck spans a wide range from work-focused trims to luxury-oriented versions, and the base end is much more spartan than the upper trims. You should pay close attention to whether the truck has the comfort and convenience equipment you want, because the feature spread is broad.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6, a 5.7-litre Hemi V8, or a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel. The V6 is described as capable and smooth, the Hemi brings stronger towing ability, and the EcoDiesel is the fuel-efficiency play if you can justify its higher price.
• Safety package: The truck includes airbags, pretensioning seatbelts, antilock brakes, brake assist, and standard electronic stability control with trailer sway control. Blind-spot monitoring is optional, backup camera availability is important, and parking sensors are optional on most models but standard on Laramie editions.
• Infotainment: An optional 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen is available in most trims and is standard above the Outdoorsman. It includes Bluetooth and SiriusXM satellite radio, while less expensive trims can have more basic systems.
• Fuel efficiency: The 3.6-litre V6 is rated at 13.9 L/100 km city and 9.5 highway in rear-wheel drive, or 14.6/10.1 in four-wheel drive. The 5.7-litre Hemi returns 15.7/10.9 in rear-wheel drive or 16.2/11.5 in four-wheel drive, while the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel improves to 11.5/8.4 in rear-wheel drive or 12.1/8.8 in four-wheel drive.

Which 2015 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2015 RAM 1500 is offered in 10 trim levels: Tradesman, ST, SXT, SLT, Big Horn, Outdoorsman, Sport, R/T, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Laramie Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-site fleet-oriented choice, so it makes sense if you want the most basic path into the truck and do not need much in the way of extras.
• ST: This sits just above the Tradesman and is still aimed at buyers who want a straightforward truck without chasing comfort or luxury features.
• SXT: This trim continues the value-focused theme and is best for shoppers who want a simple Ram 1500 without moving far up the price ladder.
• SLT: This is a popular pick for buyers and a sensible middle ground if you want a more broadly equipped truck without going too far into premium territory.
• Big Horn: This is the consumer volume model and adds a few more content upgrades over the SLT, making it the best-value trim for many shoppers.
• Outdoorsman: This trim is aimed at buyers who want a more outdoorsy flavour and sits above the mainstream trims with more equipment.
• Sport: This trim is for shoppers who want a more distinctive appearance and includes the R/T option as part of the Sport trim.
• R/T: This is the more aggressive Sport-based choice and stands out with 22-inch alloy wheels.
• Laramie: This is where the truck starts leaning into luxury, with standard parking sensors and a more upscale feel.
• Laramie Longhorn: This is one of the luxury trims for buyers who want a more premium full-size pickup experience.
• Laramie Limited: This is the top-end luxury choice and the newest upscale trim in the lineup, aimed at buyers who want the most polished version of the truck.

The safety package is broad, but blind-spot monitoring is optional rather than standard, and parking sensors are standard only on Laramie editions.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush into the first truck you see.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 429 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,043 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $16,615 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,953 CAD.

That price movement suggests the truck has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help demand among shoppers who want a full-size pickup with a more premium feel. For a future seller, the softer market means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the truck quickly.

The upside is that the Ram 1500 still has broad appeal thanks to its comfort, powertrain variety, and upscale cabin options. If you keep it in strong condition and choose a desirable configuration, it should remain easier to market than a more stripped-down work truck.

Is the 2015 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2015 RAM 1500 earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and five-star ratings in side impacts.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The truck’s safety equipment includes airbags, pretensioning seatbelts, antilock brakes, brake assist, and standard electronic stability control with trailer sway control. Blind-spot monitoring is available as an option, the backup camera is especially useful on a truck this size, and front and rear parking sensors are optional on most models but standard on Laramie editions.

A notable strength is that the Ram’s trailer sway control can help calm a wandering trailer, which is especially useful if you tow regularly. The main caveat is that some of the more helpful driver aids are not standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2015 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.33% compared with last year.
• The expert summary appeals to you because it highlights handsome looks, two strong powertrain options, and a cabin that ranges from work truck to luxe cruiser.

The bottom line: The 2015 is a strong choice if you want a used Ram 1500 with broad trim choice, a comfortable cabin, and a more favourable price than it had a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also use the softer market to target a well-kept example with the equipment you want rather than settling for the first available truck.
