CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Acura MDX
Summary
With 79 currently listed for sale and an average price of $15,025 CAD, 32.9% of 2015 Acura MDX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Acura MDX 4.6 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Acura MDX stands out as a well-rounded midsize luxury SUV that blends comfort, practicality, and a strong reputation for quality. It sits within the third generation, which brought a more technology-focused cabin, a re-engineered 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower, and a nine-speed automatic that arrived in 2016 to improve fuel economy. For buyers, that means the 2015 model offers the core strengths of this generation: a refined powertrain, a comfortable ride, and a long list of features that became more common than they had been on earlier MDXs.
What also makes the 2015 Acura MDX appealing is its useful three-row layout and the sense of space it still provides, even if the third row is small. The generation’s standard equipment and available features helped move the MDX upmarket, and Acura’s gradual addition of driver-assist technology added to its everyday appeal. At the same time, it is not the most engaging-looking or most spacious version of the MDX, and the infotainment system was not especially easy to use. Even so, the 2015 model remains attractive for shoppers who want a premium family SUV with solid reliability, good comfort, and a practical balance of efficiency and capability.

This car is amazing. It is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The price was right, the car is super clean and performs well. I’ve only had it a week but I know I could not have found it without the help of Cargurus.

How much does the 2015 Acura MDX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $14,843 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $14,843 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $17,356 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $17,250 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −13.95% |
Prices have softened 13.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 79 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.
Is the 2015 Acura MDX a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Acura MDX earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and performance, and many also like how it handles in snowy conditions. The comfortable seating and advanced technologies add to its appeal if you want a premium family SUV with a practical three-row layout and a refined, well-rounded driving experience. With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Acura MDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback highlights reliability, and many drivers describe the MDX as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for family duty, commuting, and winter driving. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained properly over time.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Acura MDX?
This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.
- Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 79 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.95% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $14,843 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Acura MDX's resale value?
The current average of $14,843 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,250 CAD.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you're buying now but less favourable if you're planning to sell soon. A softer used-price environment usually means future resale gains may be more limited unless the vehicle stands out on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Even so, the MDX's reputation for quality and its broad family appeal should help it remain relevant with shoppers looking for a premium three-row SUV.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Acura MDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.95% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2015 MDX is a smart choice if you want the core strengths of this generation at a lower average price, especially if comfort, reliability, and family-friendly practicality matter most. If you're more price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar example offers better value or a stronger feature mix for the money.
