Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to reliability, and drivers describe it as dependable and trouble-free for everyday use. That matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for commuting, errands, and family duty without a lot of drama.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about reliability and more about finding a well-kept example with consistent maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 16.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 169 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.22% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,764 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $14,034 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,352 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if prices stay under pressure. If you plan to sell later, the current trend points to steady rather than rising value. The good news is that the RAV4’s broad appeal should help it remain easy to move when the time comes.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 16.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $15,783 CAD, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $14,034 CAD average.
• It adds improved crash-test ratings.

The bottom line: Choose the 2014 if you want the better value and a proven, practical compact SUV. If you are price-sensitive, the 2014 is the smarter starting point; if you are willing to pay more for the next year’s safety improvements, the 2015 is worth a look.
