Should I buy a 2014 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.80% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 is a strong choice if you want the first year of this generation’s roomier, more practical design and you can find one with solid maintenance history. If you are price-sensitive, a nearby year may offer a similar ownership experience, but the 2014 remains a sensible pick when condition, service records, and asking price line up well.
