This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 19.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 267 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.08% compared with last year.

What is the 2014 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $15,198 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,182 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable entry point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck has been maintained. Because the model still has solid owner satisfaction, demand should remain reasonably steady for clean examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.51/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 19.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.51/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $16,615 CAD, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $15,198 CAD average.
• It adds a more attention-getting look and a broader range of cabin and powertrain choices.

The bottom line: The 2014 is the better starting point if you want a comfortable, well-equipped full-size truck at a lower average price. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling alternative with broader appeal, the 2015 is worth a look; if price matters most, the 2014 remains the smarter value play.
