Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Mazda CX-5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 102 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,502 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $10,768 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,407 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the vehicle is especially well kept. If you buy at the right price and maintain it carefully, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation. Strong demand for this model year should still help support resale, especially because shoppers respond well to its overall ownership appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the 2014 Mazda CX-5’s sporty road manners, practical compact-SUV packaging, and strong owner satisfaction, it’s a sensible year to target. You should focus on well-maintained examples with clean service history, especially if you want to reduce ownership risk. If you’re more price-sensitive, nearby model years can still be worth comparing, but the 2014 remains a good starting point when you find one priced near the lower end of the market.
