Is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee stands out because it marked a dramatic shift for the nameplate. Owners describe it as reliable for shoppers who value comfort and interior quality, and some also see it as a dependable choice overall. Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and focus on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 16.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 150 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,383 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $9,428 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,006 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be able to limit some of that depreciation pressure. For resale, trim, condition, and maintenance history will matter a lot more than simply owning the model year.

Should I buy a 2014 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 16.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.34% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2014 Cherokee makes sense if you want a more affordable entry point into this generation and you value comfort, styling, and available features. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
