The current average of $17,483 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,456 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck has been maintained. If the market stays steady, a clean example should still appeal to shoppers looking for a capable full-size pickup with a more premium feel.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.15/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.15/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 makes sense if you want a full-size pickup with a more premium cabin feel, strong capability, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are price-sensitive, the 2014 is still worth a close look because the softer pricing and decent deal availability can work in your favour, but you should be especially careful about condition and service history before buying.
