Very reliable. I owned one of these for 9 years and only had to do minor repairs and maintenance. It's fun to drive. Giant trunk you can fit anything in there. The 4 cylinder seems slow to accelerate though. At 169k miles it needs some suspension work maybe some wheel bearings soon. But it still runs and I still drive it around town. I feel as tall as the big trucks when I drive my Ford Escape.

The ford escape doesn't have actual millage. This car drove for more than 300k miles & yet the dealer states 121k miles ...(millage inconsistency) I am glad I didn't fall in to the trap.

Having done my research, it turns out the Escape is one of the more reliable vehicles on the road. One heads up though: on the 2011 and earlier models, make sure the PTU fluid is changed--the location of the PTU (surrounded by hot-running parts) was an issue because the fluid would break down and this could cause problems with the rear wheels. Ford did a recall and fix on the issue, so make sure your Escape had it done. If you pay attention to the PTU fluids being filled every 25-30K miles, youre good. Other than this, its a solid SUV.

The car looks ok from the pictures, but the interior and exterior has obviously been flooded. There is a strong odor on the inside due to flooding. There is major rust on the inside and out.
