strong, excellent build, powerful engine and perfect track control. There is absolutely no shortage of power in any RPM range, it could do with more interior space, overall an excellent car to own with minor flaws. Strongly recommend it. Avoid buying pre 2003 Models.

I leased a brand new 2010 Mercedes ML350 before this X5. The E53 (X5) as is the technical term- outpowers its German counterpart. The ML didn't feel tough and infact it was like a puffy and sluggish sedan for soccer moms in the OC. The 4.4i Sport package handling is excellent on the freeway, curves, and going up hill. The set back is it is very bouncy going over speed bumps and potholes. It's not the best daily driver, but then again this is a second car. It's an excellent value as a used car because for the price I bought it, you can't easily find a car that's got what this has. Brand new this car cost close to $62k after options and taxes. I paid $8k. That's alot of car for the price. By comparison the 2007-2012 X5 became too tame and lost their urban attitude in favor of a very rounded SUV that look more like a wagon.

The X5 has met all expectations. Even gas mileage - I average 21 mpg combined city/hwy. Comfortable, safe, and cool looking. Plenty of power with the 3.0. The free maintenance is great. No charge for the first 50K miles. great looking car. lots of options, ...German technology, all wheels drive. smooth ride. good gas millage.

There is nothing like a BMW for having that feel that you are in control of the road. Solid construction and incredible handling. A 120,000 mile car still feels like it has 20,000 miles and many more miles to go.
