My Lexus shut down

Does anyone know what could be wrong
with my Lexus I was at a stoplight and she
just stopped twister to the side into a
parking lot she wants to start but it won't
being a Lexus I will not pump the gas pedal.
It sounds like there's no gas going to the
motor but the mechanic said it was the
timing belt what can I do

Could be the alternator , or any number of things , you really need test equipment to know , You work with computers everyday , that's what runs your car , a computer

Disconnect the battery.Take the battery to get fully charged.The battery has to be 12.8volts, when fully charged.When you connect it back in your car, MAKE SURE TO CONNECT THE NEGATIVE FIRST, THEN THE POSITIVE.HOPE THIS HELPS.
