How to remove broken mileage reset push pin

Asked by MarkMJ Jul 28, 2013 at 06:05 AM about the 2002 Porsche Boxster Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2002 Boxster and the mileage push pin is broken.  I bought a new pin.  What is the correct procedure to remove the old one.  Pull it out?  Inspecting the new one, it looks like it fits onto a male part.  Don't want to do any more damage while replacing it.  Thanks!

Not sure about yours but some of those use to be threaded. Look inside new one to see if it appears to have threads. If so just turn the broke one to the left.

Good morning dandy....I really looked and came up empty on this one and you are correct the one on my car is threaded, but if it's broke off inside, could be trouble
