Starting my 04 Cayenne

Asked by Eromero69 Sep 19, 2015 at 11:15 AM about the 2004 Porsche Cayenne S AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello there
I have an 04 Cayanne, once I try to start my car within the first attempt fails
and seems like the battery is totally dead as the instrument panel appears
blank however on the immediate second attemp starts immediately and
doesn't seems or feels like the battery is low. Once is started the instrumnet
panel shows the PSM warning light but it disappears once you walk a few
feets and the clock needs to be reset. It almost looks like you disconnected
the battery for a moment.
It starts typically everytime and randomly decides to act the way I described.
Thanks for your help.

Get a terminal cleaner and give the battery terminals a good cleaning. Also clean the cable ends. Apply some copper anti-seize compound to the posts and thoroughly tighten the cables.
