1999 poniac montana

Asked by GuruVTD5W Aug 11, 2018 at 04:23 PM about the 1999 Pontiac Montana 4 Dr STD Passenger Van Extended

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My vans thermostat went out and
when I went to change it, the only
peice of thermostat that was in
there was the top circle piece. The
springs and the brass piece where
gone. The new thermostat went in
easy like there wasn't any other
peice in there... Could that just
mean when I bought the van it
was missing a thermostat? Or
could the rest of the old
thermostat still be stuck in there?

Someone probably just removed part of the thermostat. If the car does not overheat you should be OK.
