why is my 2021 toyota highlander xle losing all battery power after sitting in a
garage for 36 hours?

That would be a question for your Toyota dealer. Use your warranty. Are you leaving the power on? The new start stop systems on todays vehicle involves turning off the engine, then the accessories. Locking the vehicle after doing so will guarantee the power is off.
